Game Fishing

The proud Nomad Team won the Sinbad Classic game Fishing Competition held in Muscat in 2007.
Oman offers seas with beautiful shades of transparent dark blue and solid dark green representing the warm and cold currents that are home to animals of beautiful colors and often weird configuration.

This includes fish that live drifting, and vivid blue fish that glide on fragile transparent wings. Flying fish and other abundant bait school fish are food for predators of various sizes, from Billfish, to Tunas to Mahi Mahi (dolphin-fish).

For bottom game fisherman, the abundance of reefs is your best guarantee to catch groupers, breams, snappers and endless variety of bottom fish.
Oman is a magnet for sport fishermen from all over the word who come to enjoy the locality and makes every fishing trip very special and memorable. For us at Nomad Tours fishing is not just a sport, it is a way of life. We spend so much time assisting others to enjoy this great sport that it has become an integral part of our lives and we are proud to be bonded with the title ‘fisherman’.
No fishing is complete without fish; we answer this question by summarizing the ingredients of successful game fishing. The greatest achievers are the most passionate and hardest working. We guarantee satisfaction by a mixture of experience, preparation, concentration and perspiration, to which, added a little bit of luck, will ensure success. We don’t give up; we enjoy fishing everyday and every hook-up to its ultimate conclusion. You never know what may happen until the time is up. It’s never over till the whistle blows for the end of the game.
Nomad Skippers bring years of extensive local knowledge. Our skippers are all known local fishermen and rated among the best in Oman. For the inexperienced fisherman we offset the inexperience factor by proper communication and coaching. We will provide you with the suitable rods, reels and tackle, show you how to catch and rig baitfish, troll lures, fight the fish, take a leader, handle the gaff and finally land the fish.
Nomad game fishing boats are custom built for the local conditions. The Yamaha single hulled 31Ft is locally known to be a workhorse, and when powered by 2 x 200 hp 4 stoke Yamaha outboards, you won't know it until you experience it. In addition to this all our boats are equipped with a Radar, Sonar depth finder, a GPS sea map, a VHF radio, and a Satellite phone. All the boats have an electric flushing highly sanitized private toilet just in case. All other safety equipment is available on board.
Nomad tours offers an unprecedented choice of tackle. Our arsenal is second to none. For trolling rods we use Penn senator, Penn tuna stick, Shimano Tiagra, Cape-fear, and Crowder. For trolling reels we use Shimano Tiagra and Penn international V series. For spinning Rods we use Penn slammer, Daiwa Saltiga, Fisherman and Carpenter. For spinning reels we use Penn Spin-fisher, Daiwa Saltiga and Shimano Stella. In short all our rods, reels and terminal tackle are within International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) published specifications.
Nomad game fishing emphasizes the need for conservation of the environment and fish stocks. We encourage the catch and release of fish; we will assist you in the correct gaffing, tagging, resuscitation and release of billfish, tunas and other internationally protected game fish. In addition to this we sill strive for the continued protection of the environment by abiding or even exceeding local regulations. We intend to make sure that game fishing will continue to be enjoyed by our future generations long after we are gone.
